Google is going to ban a well-known Chinese Developer from Google Play Store and eliminating a large number of its apps. The Chinese developer DO Global was committed to abusing user permissions and ad frauds. The Buzzfeed and security researchers discovered that the developer was creating fake ads clicks to get maximum revenue with other deceptive methods.

Google Banned a Chinese App Developer with more than 600 million downloads

As per “The Verga” reports: Google explained that “We take our responsibility to protect users and advertisers seriously, and invest in tools and resources to fight fraud and abuse globally. We actively investigate malicious behavior, and when we find violations, we take action, including the removal of a developer’s ability to monetize their app with AdMob or publish on Play”

The researchers found at least six apps which contain fake ad clicking codes that would process in the background even when a user exit to the app. currently, “DO Global” has about 100 apps in the Google Play store and most apps are listed under different developer’s names. BuzzFeed reports that 46 of them are now gone.

Check Point wrote in its research, “In a world where ad revenue can produce a very high income, it’s not surprising why malicious actors are after fraudulent activities against ad agencies. ‘Follow the money’ is a good rule of thumb while investigating a malicious campaign.” It appeared into the apps after BuzzFeed reached them. Google took action after the BuzzFeed released its conclusions and findings last week.

Google never compromise on the quality of service and always keeps a close eye on the violations, spammers and fake activities. Google removed a huge batch of apps for violations of rules in the near past. Last year, in January Google, removed over 60 games from the Google Play Store after “Check Point” discovered a malicious bug included in the apps that were displaying porn ads. Most of the games were targeted at children.
