Huawei is set to launch its Nova 7 smartphone series in April
Huawei Nova 7SE, one of the company’s Nova 7 series phones, is expected to feature a 6.5-inch hole-punch display, as shared by Tapster, known as Weibo. The post also says the Huawei Nova 7SE will come with a 64-megapixel rear camera, a Cairn 5G mid-range chip, and 22.5W fast charging technology. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner may also be available for the phone. An old tweet also indicated the Nova 7 should be the first computer with a Cairn 820Sc built-in 5 G modem.
Before listing the specifications, the Weibo post by user Digital Chat Station (translated) gives a disclaimer that the data is “Supply Chain Analysis News.” It may not be accurate, so this leak should be taken with a grain of salt like all others.
The old tweet in question, which came out in December last year, has said that the Kirin 820 will replace the existing Kirin 810 chipset and will be the first phone to come with the Nova 7 or Nova 10X. It also says that the Kirin 820 will have a built-in 5G modem. Considering this, and considering the Weibo post, the Huawei Nova 7 might be the first phone to come with a mid-range Cairn 5G chip as we know that Huawei uses the Kirin 810 processor in existing mid-range phones. And will be the Nova 7SE mid-range or budget product.
The tweet from last year also shared the new Kirin 1020 SoC’s reported efficiency improvements over the older Kirin 990 5G. Built on the 5 nm architecture, the Kirin 1020 may be faster than the Kirin 990 5 G by 50%. Huawei is reportedly launching a series of Nova 7 smartphones on April 25, 2020.
