iPhone SE (2020) Camera reviewed with DxOMark, Offers Good Exposure but Poor Zoom Shots

Phone SE (2020) was reviewed through the DxOMark camera test, and the smartphone scored a total of 101 points for its camera and a modest 84 points for its selfie camera. The smartphone was released in April and succeeded at offering substantial features at a lower price. DxOMark praises the visibility and contrast of the iPhone SE (2020). It says, however, that the phone is poor for zoom and bokeh shots compared to other top competitors.

The iPhone SE (2020) scores 103 points for its photo-taking abilities in the DxOMark camera test and 98 points for its capabilities in video recording. The analysis suggests the phone is doing very well in daylight and colour zones and tends to even maintain clarity in outdoor shots. Even so, the absence of a specialised depth sensor causes a bit of resentment in zoom and bokeh shots. The iPhone SE (2020) fits between both the Redmi K20 Pro (with 102 overall) and the iPhone XR (with 101 total).

DxoMark states that the portrait mode of iPhone SE (2020) issues with the depth estimation and sometimes blurs things relevant to the subject. The research suggests specifics in the zoom shots for the iPhone SE are also low. It continues, “It’s not as good as some of the better 4K phones we’ve reviewed, with texture details mapping falling off a bit indoors, and most specifically in low light.”

The auto-focus of the iPhone SE (2020) camera is also reported to be passable with the exact words and could be improved. The image score for the iPhone SE (2020) compares that for old models such as the Google Pixel 3.

The front camera is praised for its precise contrast adjustment and sensitivity to the goal. The newly released Apple iPhone scored 85 points for the photo and 83 points for videos in the selfie category. The analysis says the specifics are very well maintained at a closer distance, and the calculation of depth for simulated bokeh is reliable, and the bright lights are functional.

Apple iOS 14 will support all iPhone models running iOS 13, including iPhone Series 6s

After all, the background quality of the iPhone SE (2020) is soft when taking a selfie, and noise is obvious under all of the conditions tested. Knowing that the iPhone SE (2020) is in the midrange device is significant, and its scores are very efficient with smartphones available at equivalent price ranges.

The iPhone SE (2020) Plus Points

  1. Modern processor
  2. Slim, light, easy to use
  3. Good daylight camera performance
  4. Regular iOS updates likely for many years

Negative Points

  1. Dated looks and small screen
  2. Single rear camera
  3. Average battery life
  4. Expensive
