Motorola’s resurrected revived foldable Razr smartphone was one of the most thrilling mobile launches of 2019, but interest for the upcoming smartphone seems to have been higher than anticipated. Because of high demand, Motorola announced that both pre-order and availability of foldable Razr smartphone would be slightly delayed, which were initially planned for 26 December and in January.
The fact that Motorola is claiming that it “anticipates a significant shift from our original availability timeline” would seem to suggest a small delay, but the new dates are for pre-orders and start-time. Based on the announcement by Motorola, it indicates that the company wants to prevent a situation where clients who want to buy a Razr can not meet a limited demand before they hit stores.
Nonetheless, the announcement of changing times is exceptionally late with previous orders scheduled to begin next Thursday especially because Motorola has yet to provide a new date when it starts to pre-orders.
The company’s full statement is given below
Since its announcement in November, the new Motorola Razr has received unparalleled excitement and interest from consumers. Demand has been high, and as a result, has quickly outgrown supply predictions.
Motorola has decided to adjust Razr’s presale and launch timing to meet consumer demand better. We are working to determine the appropriate quantity and schedule to ensure that more consumers have access to Razr at launch.
We do not anticipate a significant shift from our original availability timeline.
