Samsung said on Wednesday; it would announce a 5G tablet in South Korea on Thursday, which is what it calls the first 5G tablet worldwide. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G, the world’s first 5G tablet, will go on sale to the domestic market on Thursday for KRW 999,900 (roughly $848).
According to the Yonhap news agency, the company has yet to announce a launch schedule for the drug outside the home turf. Samsung revealed in a press release January 30 launch date, in which it also listed some tablet specifications.
Apart from an S Pen stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G weighs 420 grams, comes with a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display, AKG-tuned quad speakers with Dolby Atmos stand.
The model sold in South Korea will have a storage capacity of 128 GB and will come in Mountain Gray. Other Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G specifications include a Qualcomm 855 SoC Snapdragon, 6 GB RAM, and 7.040mAh battery.
Samsung has been working on expanding its portfolio of 5G to become the world market leader. The company currently sells Galaxy 5G devices, which include smartphones from the Galaxy S10 5G, Note 10 5G, and A90 5G.
In 2019, according to market researcher Strategy Analytics data, Samsung was the No. 2 player in the global 5G smartphone market with a 35.8 percent share, with shipments of 6.7 million 5G smartphones worldwide.
