Xiaomi’s Mi Band 5 is expected to feature Larger AMOLED Display and Worldwide NFC Support

Xiaomi’s Mi band series is running high for the company. Thanks to its combination of ultra-low-cost features. Now, Xiaomi is reportedly trying to attract things with its next fitness band, tentatively called Mi Band 5. As the name suggests, Mi Band 5 will succeed in the Mi Band 4, and it will reportedly have a larger 1.2-inch device. AMOLED display. Additionally, Xiaomi will reportedly equip its upcoming fitness band with the help of the NFC, which will not close in any particular region. 

A recent TizenHelp report mentions that the new Band will come with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, but the resolution and other features such as brightness performance are not specified. In contrast, the Mi Band 4 is a 0.95-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 120×240 pixels. The report adds that the screen of the new band will provide a higher output of brightness, better contrast, and better readability under natural light.

Another notable feature that the Mi Band 5 will bring is NFC support outside China. Xiaomi already offers Mi Band 4 NFC variant in China, but stocks sold in other markets lack NFC support. Xiaomi could change that with the Band 5, and offer support for NFC across all markets. What this means is the NFC support provided by Band 5 will allow users to make travel payments and other compatible types of transactions regardless of geography.

The Band 5 is said to be priced at CNY 179 upon its launch, which amounts to a CNY 10 improvement over the Mi Band 4 asking price. Huami is reported to be producing the Mi Band 5 for Xiaomi, but nothing has surfaced as far as the upcoming fitness band’s launch date is concerned.
